Circadian Rhythms
After Hours

Circadian Rhythms is the collaborative brainchild of alternative pop artist Josey Marina and contemporary composer and producer Jack Beech. After working together for several years on Marina’s solo records and discovering a strong creative spark, the pair were compelled to begin their own artistic project in 2017, taking their Northern roots and a newfound love for jazz as starting points. Indeed, the project draws on the likes of Snarky Puppy, Jordan Rakei and Yussef Kamaal, as well as Tycho, Nitin Sawhney and Elbow, resulting in a fresh blend of funky, jazz-washed pop with a dark and gritty edge.
Conceptually, Circadian Rhythms is further inspired by Greater Manchester, travel beyond such horizons, and the perpetual ebb and flow of city life – its cyclical motions and internal rhythms. Fitting into the grooves of Marina’s and Beech’s own lives, since conception the project has partially migrated to the south of England and looks forward to a steady expansion of material, band members and performance capacity.
